The Special Education department at NQHS offers a number of programs and courses built to meet the individual learning needs of students. Substantially separate programs include the Special Needs Learning Center (SNLC), the Children Achieve Real Success (CARES) program, and the Positive Academic and Social Success (PASS) program.

Special Education faculty members are also co-teachers in Inclusion classes offered in the English, mathematics, and science departments. They also teach sections of Strategies for Learning, a support course that reviews and reinforces the content and skills covered in content-area classes.
